Proof The Unimog Delivers !!!

For many years now we have been aware that the Unimog has been a far better alternative vehicle than standard Agriclutural Tractors for on and off-road haulage. With the advent of powershift and CVT transmissions further and further rolling resistance has been added to Agricultural Tractors. I personally witnessed the dramatic rolling stop distances between a number of leading Agricultural Tractor brands and the Unimog. This was a simple test involving reaching a fixed speed of 40km/hr then a pre-determined point dipping the clutch and letting the vehicle freewheel to a standstill. Of course there are various factors to be considered, weight, tyres etc. The basic outcome was that from the very simple test that I witnessed the Unimog rolled considerably further than the Tractors, therefore showing its far reduced transmission drag. This reduction in drag is passed on in far better fuel efficiency and performance - ACP

Last year the Unimog and a range of Agricultural Tractors were put through a rigorous test, the results are surprising ! A Unimog uses 40% less fuel for haulage than comparitive tractors !!
