The Unimog U 3000/U 4000/U 5000 range is driven by low-maintenance Mercedes-Benz 4-cylinder engines, which provide ample power and high torque build-up. They provide the drive to tackle the most difficult terrain and conditions. Engine emissions are also kept environmentally friendly – and within national standards – through the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology of the new Euro 4 engine with BlueTec®. This Unimog range can also be provided with the Euro 3 version engines. 

Mercedes-Benz engines
The direct-injection, three-valve technology, exhaust-gas turbocharger, intercooler, wide constant performance range and high torque build-up engines have output ranges from 110 kW (150 HP) to 160 kW (218 HP). World-beating engineering from a world-leading manufacturer.

BlueTec®
The Mercedes-Benz BlueTec® system minimises fuel consumption without reducing engine performance, and at the same time reduces nitrogen oxide and particle emissions.

Driving and working modes
Engine modes can be selected by the driver, depending on the type of job to be done. Driving mode benefits from the elasticity of the engine speeds, for both road trips and road haulage; working mode guarantees minimal engine speed for off-road work and with varying loads.

Double three-point mounting
The cab and body remain undamaged even during maximum axle articulation as a result of the twist and strain-free body on the double, three-point mounting.

Attachment and body mounting areas
The Mercedes-Benz Unimog teams have been forging and building close relationships with leading international implement and body manufacturers for many years. As a result, customers and operators can order a complete solution: the chosen Unimog chassis plus all or any implements and bodies from a single, reliable source.

Auxiliary drives
The extreme terrain range includes drives for standard hydraulic pumps for cranes and excavators, or to connect fire extinguishing pumps or other requirements. The Unimog is always ready for its chosen role.

Hydraulic system
The integral systems are connected easily using standard plugs and offer a working pressure of up to 240 Bar. There are two connectors each, at the front and rear, and these are used, for example, for winches or cranes, and a wide range of other options.
